We are seeking Trustees

We are a multi-academy trust responsible for 28 schools in Oxfordshire and Swindon and a school-centred initial teacher training provider. We are looking for new Trustees and inviting applications from anyone who would like to join the other Board members in taking forward this successful enterprise. We aim for excellence in all our schools, sharing expertise to improve education for all our students quickly and sustainably.

Trustees are responsible for the strategic oversight and direction of the Trust and all its schools and entities. They set the vision and policies for the Trust, ensure the quality of education, and manage the Trust’s finances and property. They have legal obligations for the proper conduct of the business of the Trust, and accountability to the government.Ìý

Our Trustees meet as a full board five times a year and in committees once a term. Once or twice a year they also attend a meeting of the governing body of one of our schools, and we have an annual event for all our governors and Trustees.

The Trust Board needs members with a range of skills and experience. We are currently looking in particular for people with experience in finance, strategic management, the education sector, safeguarding and SEND. Applications from members of ethnic minority communities are particularly welcome.

For further details please contact Louise Askew, Head of Governance and Compliance, by email at: [email protected], or telephone 07970 678962. The River Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and expects all staff, Trustees and Members to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

To apply please send a CV and covering letter setting out how your experience, knowledge and skills meet the requirements of the role to [email protected]Ìý

The deadline for applications is midday on Wednesday 1st November and interviews will be held on the afternoon of Friday 17th November.
