The Marlborough School ‘could be Outstanding’

ճMarlborough School in Woodstock has been told it “could be judged Outstanding” following an inspection by Ofsted.

Inspectors described the school as “a caring community” where “pupils and staff share a mutual understanding of the importance of education”.

They added: “Opportunities abound throughout the school. Pupils are proud to take on responsibility and they are keen to make a positive impact both in school and within the community.

“Leaders support teachers in utilising teaching strategies that help pupils achieve highly, including those with SEND.

“Pupils are consistently engaged in their learning and are exceptionally considerate towards each other’s education.

“Staff at all levels are committed to and proud of the school.”

ճMarlborough School headteacher Andrew Hanlon said: “We are proud of our young people and of the school and community that we are all part of.

“Although we are delighted that our commitment to excellence and perseverance have been recognised in this way, this report only makes us more determined to make our school the very best place for all our children to flourish and thrive.

“We will continue to do all we can to make this happen.”
